May 6, 2017 -  John Bridgeland delivers the Commencement Address to 3,000 people and nearly 300 graduates at the coliseum at Averett University in Danville, Virginia. The inspirational Tiffany Franks, President of Averett, led the ceremonies and has helped mobilize nearly every college and university int he Commonwealth of Virginia to become part of the Service Year Alliance's efforts to institutionalize national service in higher education. Bridgeland was awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letter from Dr. Timothy Fulop, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success. Click here for highlights of the ceremony. 
May 3, 2017 -  Jennifer DePaoli, John Bridgeland, Robert Balfanz, Governor Wise and John Gomperts release the 8th annualupdate to the nation on progress and challenge in raising high school graduation rates. May 1-2, 2017 -  Commissioner John Bridgeland joins Tim Shriver, Governor John Engler, Linda-Darling Hammond, and the Aspen Institute team for two days of site visits in the Cleveland Public Schools and field hearings for the National Commission on Social, Emotional and Academic Development.
April 27, 2017 -  John Bridgeland gave the Keynote Address at the All Volunteer Force Symposium at the College of William and Mary
April 25, 2017 -  On World Malaria Day, Ray Chambers, Peter Chernin, John Bridgeland and the rest of the Malaria No More team honored Admiral Tim Ziemer for a decade of partnership on working to end malaria deaths at the Malaria No More Gala in New York City. More than 6 million lives have been saved since the public-private partnership began.

Education

Civic Enterprises advances many education initiatives aimed at increasing the national high school graduation rate, such as the GradNation Campaign and American Graduate, and is partnering with several organizations working in the field of education, including the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, and Committee for Children.

Econ. Mobility

Civic Enterprises, in partnership with Opportunity Nation and Hart Research Associates, has worked on a research effort to marshal voices of low-income Americans on the challenges of fulfilling the promise of economic opportunity and mobility in the United States.

Civic Engagement

Civic Enterprises collaborates with organizations that are part of the National Service Alliance, including The Franklin Project, the National Conference on Citizenship, Voices for National Service, and ServiceNation, to advance the idea that all young Americans should commit to a year of full-time national service.

Global Affairs

Civic Enterprises has worked with a diverse array of international organizations, including Children International, Special Olympics, and the National Peace Corps Association, to develop initiatives and strengthen their work both domestically and internationally.

Environment

Civic Enterprises is partnering with numerous organizations and programs, such as the Earth Conservation Corps, EARTH University, and the 21st Century Conservation Service Corp, to strengthen environmental policies and initiatives on a national and global scale.

Healthcare

Civic Enterprises is working for The Heritage Foundation to develop a defined long term Medicare reform strategy and health proposals to tie together the health and entitlement LFA teams, working closely with the Director for the Center for Health Policy studies and the Director of the Roe Institute.
