Ryan Streeter

Ryan Streeter From 2005-2007, Streeter was Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy at the White House, where he managed the development and implementation of policy on housing, human services, and health care issues. As the chief housing official in the White House, Streeter oversaw the ongoing implementation of the administration's efforts to increase minority homeownership in America. He coordinated the administration's efforts on the reauthorization of welfare reform and pushed forward key administration healthcare priorities such as the adoption of electronic health records for all Americans. From 2003-2005, Streeter was a senior advisor and director at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. At HUD he oversaw major regulatory reform initiatives and instituted a nationwide, grassroots education initiative that trained more than 14,000 community leaders across the country.

Before joining the administration, Streeter was a fellow at Hudson Institute, where he conducted research, consulted, and wrote on a broad range of topics such as urban policy, welfare reform, civil society, and government reform. Prior to his work at Hudson, he served as special assistant for policy to Indianapolis mayor Stephen Goldsmith and worked as a consultant in Europe.

He is the editor, co-author, and author of four books and has published numerous articles. Streeter is an adjunct fellow at Hudson Institute and holds a Ph.D. in political philosophy from Emory University. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and two children.
